Mayor Canaday called the regular meeting to order at 7:02 pm.
 
Pledge of Allegiance
 
Councilor Elmore led the pledge of allegiance. 
 
Attendance
 
Present: Mayor Canaday, Mayor Pro-Tem  Coumbs, Councilor Vogt, Councilor Elmore, Councilor Greenwood, Councilor Abbarno  and Councilor Barnes.
 
Absent: None.
 
1. Approval of Agenda - As Presented
 
COUNCILOR GREENWOOD MOVED, SECONDED BY COUNCILOR ABBARNO, TO APPROVE THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED...motion PASSED...7-0.
 
2. Comments by the Public on Non Agenda Items
 
Jean Bluhm, Borst Home, addressed the Council and spoke on an upcoming open house and auction to benefit the Borst Church project.
 
Phoebe Slusher, STOP and Swim, addressed the Council and updated them on the splash pad and outdoor pool.
 
Linda Conroy, library, addressed the Council and spoke on library events.
 
3. Proclamations
a. Public Works Week
 
Mayor Canaday read the proclamation into the record and Kim Ashmore accepted it.
 
4. Presentation
a. Introduction of new Police Officer Stephen Summers
 
Chief Nielsen introduced Officer Summers.
 
b. Centralia Police Department Awards
 
Chief Nielsen presented his annual department awards.  Commander Denham presented Chief Nielsen with an award from the department.
 
c. Lewis County Update - Commissioner Fund
 
Commissioner Fund updated the Council on Lewis County issues.
 
4. Reports 
 
Councilor Vogt - reported he attended the Grand Opening for the Trans Alta Commons.
 
Councilor Abbarno - reported he attended the Lewis County Bar & Legal Aid lunch, Farmers Market Grand Opening, Centralia Athletics Fundraiser, Grand opening of the Trans Alta Commons, Rob Fuller Scholarship lunch, Bowman Rotary Banquet Hall dedication, the Youth Fair and a tour of Chehalis Valley Wine.
 
Councilor Elmore - reported he attended the Rob Fuller Scholarship lunch, a ribbon cutting and noted that the Home and Garden show was coming up this weekend.
 
Councilor Greenwood - reported he has spoke with a citizen who would like their road looked at for possible repairs.
 
Joyce Barnes - reported she attended the Trans Alta Commons Grand Opening, the Cascade Mental Health ground breaking and the outdoor pool fundraiser.
 
Mayor Pro-Tem Coumbs - reported he attended the Youth Fair.
 
Mayor Canaday - reported she attended an RFA meeting, Chehalis Basin Partnership, George Washington meeting, Cascade Mental Health ground breaking, Youth Fair and Southwest Washington Air Control.
 
Rob Hill - thank staff of all departments for all they do.

COUNCILOR GREENWOOD MOVED, SECONDED BY COUNCILOR ABBARNO, TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION WAIVING BIDDING REQUIREMENTS DUE TO SPECIAL MARKET CONDITIONS FOR THE PURCHASE OF A USED TRAILER MOUNTED AIR COMPRESSOR...motion PASSED...7-0.
