Wireman/Relay Technician

Salary:  $48.27/hr                                                 Status:  full-time, IBEW union
General Function:
Install, test and maintain simple and complex relays, SCADA equipment, regulators, transformers, breakers and other associated apparatus.  Perform all phases of electrical substation construction and maintenance.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D.  Must have completed an IBEW-recognized Journeyman Wireman Apprentice Program and possess a Journeyman Wireman Card.  Classes in advanced electronics and decision-making skills recommended.
  1. Must have two (2) years’ experience as a Journeyman Wireman.
  2. Must have or be able to obtain a valid Washington State driver’s license within 6 months from date of hire with an acceptable driving record. 
  3. Must have or be able to obtain a valid Washington State Class ‘A’ Commercial Driver’s License within 6 months from date of hire.
Special Requirements:
Ability and willingness to respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis.
