General Function:
Plans, organizes, and supervises the work of multiple work crews engaged in the operation and maintenance of the City’s wastewater treatment plant, sewer collection system, lift stations, and 360 acre farm.  Supervise the control and processing of wastewater, sludge, and effluent to meet state and federal regulations.  Supervise Class A biosolids program.  Responsible for generating all required reports for the wastewater system including: Discharge Monitoring Reports, biosolids reports and Infiltration & Inflow reports.  Works with individuals and organizations on cooperative projects to improve natural resource areas within the wastewater utility property and on issues related to public access.
Education and Experience:
Associate degree in a field related to wastewater treatment (bachelor’s degree preferred) and five years’ experience in wastewater treatment plant operation and maintenance, two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred. May possess any combination of relevant education and experience which would demonstrate the individual’s skills, knowledge, and ability required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.
Group 4 Wastewater Plant Operator certification and ability to obtain Washington Wastewater Collection Personnel Association Group 1 certification or higher within one (1) year of employment with the City of Centralia. Valid WA State driver's license is required with acceptable driving record.
