Yard Waste

The City of Centralia accepts residential yard waste from Centralia residents only.  The site is operated by the Public Works Department.

Effective 2011, there is a permit fee of $20.  This fee will help offset the cost of operating the yard waste station.

YOU MAY PURCHASE THE PERMIT AT
CENTRALIA PUBLIC WORKS
LOCATED AT 1100 N TOWER
STARTING MONDAY, APRIL 4th

The yard waste station is loated at 1223 Woodland Avenue near the corner of Woodland Avenue and South Street in Centralia.  Look for the large sign next to the entrance.

The yard waste station is open on Saturdays only.  Please see the list of dates and times that the site is open.  The yard waste station will be closed January thru March.

May 7 & 21             June 4 & 18            July 2 & 16             August 6 & 20
September 3 & 17     October 1 & 15     November 5 & 19     December 3 & 17

The yard waste station accepts the following materials only:

* Grass clippings
* Garden trimmings
* Limbs (four inches or less in diameter and less than seven feet in length)
* Vines
* Leaves
* Other natural vegetation
* All materials must be separated - leaves only, limbs only, and other natural vegetation only.

The yard waste station does NOT accept the following materials:

* Rocks
* Garbage
* Roots
* Root balls
* Lumber
* Construction debris
* Land clearing debris
* Hazardous waste
* Plastic trash bags

Loads from hauling services and commercial establishments cannot be accepted.  All of the materials brough to the site are used to make compost.  All of the material brought to the station must be free of contamination and prohibted materials.
