Construction Update - Week of July 17, 2017

Borst Avenue and Johnson Road
NOVA Contracting will begin replacing sanitary sewer main pipe on Johnson Road between Borst Avenue and Caveness Street on Monday, July 17.  The sewer main replacement on Johnson Road will take a few weeks to complete.  This work must be completed before asphalt patching on Borst Avenue can be completed.

R. C. Walsh Construction will continue replacing sidewalk access ramps at the intersection of Borst Avenue and Johnson Road and the intersection of Borst Avenue and Belmont Street.  The new sidewalk ramps in this area should be complete by Friday, July 21.

Work will impact vehicular traffic flow during work hours and flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic through the work area.  The public is urged to use caution or use alternate routes if possible.  Pavement restoration on Johnson Road and Borst Avenue (Johnson Rd. to Allen St.) is scheduled to be completed by the end of August 2017. We appreciate your patience as we complete a series of projects in this area over the next few months.

N. Ash Street
The Water Department will continue work on N. Ash Street replacing water main pipe in preparation for the roadway paving project that will take place on Ash Street and J Street later this year.  The road may be closed to thru traffic at times during work hours with detours in place.

Cooks Hill Road
Cooks Hill Road between the Mellen Street Bridge and Scheuber Road is scheduled for chip seal resurfacing on Friday, July 21.  Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic through the work area.  The speed limit on Cooks Hill Road within the work area will be reduced to 20 miles per hour for a week after the chip seal work is complete.  Motorcycles should use extreme caution.
