Centralia City Light Salzer Transmission Line - Road Closures/Power Outages

The City of Centralia Light Department is constructing a new 115-kV transmission line (Line) that will extend from the existing Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) transmission line at the intersection of Salzer Valley Road and Centralia Alpha Road and run along the Salzer Valley Road and East Summa Street to a new Substation that is being constructed at 201 East Summa Street. The Line is approximately 1.5 miles long.

On most days, during construction, the contractor will have one lane closed.  There will be times when it will be necessary to close the entire road.  During these times, a detour will be set up to get around the construction project.  Road closures become necessary when the contractor needs to safely install a new pole in an area with an energized distribution line.

There are three planned six (6) hour power outages under the contract to install all of the new wires for the transmission and the distribution. All affected customers will be notified 72 hours prior to these outages.

The project is scheduled to start on or about September 30, 2019 with an estimated time of completion date of December 31, 2019.

All the above road closures and power outages are to protect the contractor workers through the most difficult parts of the project.  Thank you for your patience and please be cautious as you drive through the work area.
