The Centralia Building Division administers and enforces the building, mechanical, plumbing and electrical codes and the fire, life and safety codes within the city's jurisdiction, including the urban growth area (UGA).

The Building Division reviews all plans submitted for building permits, and performs all required inspections throughout construction. The Building Division's goal is to participate in the creation of a community where people can live safely, comfortably, and economically.

2015 Energy Code Compliance (Added July 2016) for new construction and additions to existing structures.

For the Washington State Energy Code, the prescriptive approach is the simplest method to code compliance. However, depending on the prescriptive option and exceptions used, documentation of compliance can be quite complex. The following forms provide much of the required documentation for plan Review. The details noted here must also be shown on your project drawings per (WSEC 104.2). To obtain a copy of the energy code, go to the following web address: http://www.energy.wsu.edu/code
