Restoring the Fort Borst Blockhouse
The City Council, Parks Board, and the Historic Preservation Commission all share the goal of restoring the Borst Blockhouse "Fort" and preserving it for future generations. The Blockhouse is a symbol of Centralia's rich history and is a landmark to the community.
Donations to SAVE THE BORST BLOCKHOUSE
can be made:
- Donate Online - you can choose how much you would like to donate in the following amounts: $25, $50, $100, $150, $200, $250, or $500. Donations over $500 please contact the Parks office at 360-330-7688.
- Mail to: Centralia Parks Department, PO Box 609, Centralia WA 98531, Attn: Borst Blockhouse Restoration
- In-person: at 118 West Maple Street (City Hall) at the Community Development Department
Sierra Pacific Company has already made a very generous donation by supplying Douglas Fir logs that will be used for structural repairs.
All donations will go into a separate account at the City dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the Borst Blockhouse (Fort). For additional information on the financing of this project please contact the City of Centralia Finance Department.
Condition Assessment/Preservation Plan
