IMPORTANT NOTICE

Beginning Monday, February 25, 2019, our Public Records Officer will temporarily be on a part-time basis.  In keeping with the spirit of RCW 42.56.100, our agency wishes to continue to provide full public access to public records while preventing excessive interference with essential functions of our agency.  We strive to provide the fullest assistance to our requesters while providing for the timeliest possible action on requests for information and records. Due to the staffing shortage, requests received during this time may not be processed in our usual expedient manner.

Centralia Police Department NOW accepts new requests via the Gov QA portal.  Gov QA is a web-based Records Center used for tracking and delivery of records requests. Click "My Records Center" to log in and/or create an account. To view requests you have previously submitted click "My Issues." To initiate a new request click on "Submit a Records Request."

Requests may also be submitted by completing the Centralia Police Department Records Request Form and presented to the Public Records Officer, Monday Friday 8 AM to 5 PM.  You may also mail the completed form to Centralia Police Department Public Records Officer, 118 West Maple Street, Centralia, WA  98531; via Email (above) or Fax to (360) 807-6210.

The processing of your request or official response to your request may take up to five (5) business days.  Many requests for inspection or copying of public records can be completed within one to two business days following the day the request is made. If your request is not complicated and the record readily available, it may be processed at the time it is received. 

NOTE: The Public Disclosure Act is for the purpose of providing existing documentation or records, not for the purpose of gathering, sorting and/or creating new documentation. General questions specific to certain divisions/sections should be directed to appropriate personnel.
