NOTICE REGARDING THE COVID-19 VIRUS
Updated July 9, 2020

Lewis County, including Centralia is at Phase 3 of the governor's Safe Start reopening plan.  City offices including Parks & Recreation is open to the public.  Face masks are required to enter city hall.  If you can't wear a mask for any reason, please call our office to discuss other options for assistance:  (360) 330-7688.

Parks Information:
 
City parks are open for residents and visitors to enjoy walking, fishing, hiking, etc, as long as they practice the required social distancing.  Restrooms are closed, however portable toilets and handwashing stations have been placed at Borst, Riverside, and Washington parks, as well as the Centralia Train Depot, and are cleaned daily. 

The Borst Park playground is closed for construction and will open as soon as work is completed.  All other park playgrounds and the splash pad at the Pearl Street Plaza are now open. Playground Use Phase 3
 
Facilities Information:

Borst Park Kitchen, the Train Depot Multi-Purpose Room and outdoor shelters are currently available for use.  All facility reservations are subject to the restrictions of Phase 3.  Phase 3 allows gatherings of 50 or fewer; gatherings greater than 50 are not permitted until Phase 4.  Social distancing must be maintained and the state mandate for face masks must be followed.  

If you have a reservation and feel you can't comply with the restrictions set by the state, or decide you don't want to risk gathering for any reason, you are welcome to cancel and get a refund.  Just call

Recreation Information:
 

Adult slowpitch and softball and baseball tournament play begins the week of July 13, following the State of Washington COVID-19 Requirements and Guidelines for outdoor sports. Ballfield Use Phase 3.  Fields may be reserved for practices on a limited basis, or first come, first served, if not scheduled for use.  

Tennis programs, Borst Home Open House events (the first one is this Saturday, July 13, from
1:30-3:30
 pm) and Seminary Hill Natural Area activities will resume in mid-July (more information posted below).  The C to C Bike Ride will be held in late August if Phase 4 is reached.
