  Press Release - River Levels
Thursday, February 09, 2017

Heavy rain has caused local rivers and streams to rise. There is a sand bag station open in the large parking lot behind the Bethel Church located near the corner of Center Street and North Pearl Street.
Due to China Creek rising, the intersection of West Magnolia and North Iron has water covering the roadway. Also East Third Street at North Gold Street is covered by water. Both have been closed off by the street department.  Halliday Road has water on the roadway but is still passable, but it is unknown if this area will continue to be passable.
If you must drive through water over the roadway please drive slow. The wake from vehicles may cause water to flow into houses and cause damage to property. If the road has been closed off by road closed signs do not drive past the signs. This is dangerous and itís against the law.
The river and stream levels will be continually monitored for changes. We do not anticipate the water to rise significantly but if changes occur an additional press release will be released.
