Stream Team 2022 Spring Newsletter
2022 Spring Newsletter
In the past, the Stream Team has been involved with numerous trash pick-ups and tree planting along our China Creek banks. The Stream Team is made up completely of volunteers who want to see improvements to their community and clean water in the creeks.
In 2019, Andrew Elam took over the Centralia Stream Team. He began the rebuilding process of getting it up and running again. Then, in 2021, the restrictions of the Pandemic crippled the opportunities for in-person events and it was on hold until 2022. February 1st, I, Kenny Blosl, started my new position at the City of Centralia in the Stormwater Department. I will be leading the projects and meetings in the future and I am excited to see the Stream Team back in business!
You may have already seen the Stream Team in action as they were involved with the Summer Festival at Borst Park in years past. It was a great opportunity to meet with our community members and get to experience the FIN trailer, Drain Dare trailer, and Lake Aberdeen’s fish pond stocked with trout.
If you are interested in being a volunteer for the Centralia Stream Team, please come down to our meet and greet meeting on May 2nd. It will be at 1100 N Tower Avenue, Centralia, WA 98531. Snacks and beverages will be provided. We are projecting May 21st to be the first day of trash clean up on China Creek with more details to come! |
