Why Centralia
Why Centralia… For a healthy lifestyle, our community offers safe neighborhoods, great schools, amazing parks, festivals and events and nearby outdoor recreation in countless forms. For business, exceptional freeway access, rail access, and city-owned electrical and water systems position businesses for success. Wages, utility rates, taxes and other operating costs are some of the most competitive along the I-5 Corridor.
Though Centralia has experienced continued growth over the past decade, there is still a wide variety of opportunities for development. There are spaces for restaurants, small businesses, retail of all sizes, office spaces and manufacturing.
Centralia encompasses nearly 5,000 acres. Three proximate interstate highways provide easy access to the region and both SeaTac International Airport and Portland International Airport are within a two hour's drive.
Centralia retains its small-town feel with an estimated population of just under 17,000. Established in 1886, Centralia enjoys a rich history, quiet tree-lined neighborhoods, and an eclectic mix of business. The City of Centralia has over 15 parks with 240+ acres of parkland that consist of neighborhood, community, open space and special use parks, as well as recreational facilities. Several area theatres, dance schools, and an active arts community all contribute to the strong cultural appreciation in the community.
Our strong civic leadership balances quality of life with an understanding and support of business and economic development. Centralia's diverse economic base, strong workforce, strategic location and superb quality of life have helped shape our community into one of the most attractive and competitive cities in Washington.
