Centralia Economic Development collaborates with key partners to focus on the retention and creation of jobs. These important relationships allow for a strategy to support more effective outcomes.
Lewis County Economic Development Council
The Lewis County Economic Development Council is actively involved in working to ensure the success of local business. Since its inception, the Economic Development Council (EDC) has worked with over eighty firms that have located here. The companies are responsible for providing over 2,300 jobs to our community. In addition, we have worked with over 250 local firms, helping them to expand or strengthen their operations. Finally, the EDC has worked with our many partners on helping to solve transportation, utility, and regulatory problems. EDC partners include over 300 business members plus local government, education, and other community based groups.
Port of Centralia
The Port of Centralia is a municipal corporation governed by an elected three-member commission. Since its inception in 1986, the Port has grown to comprise over 1,100 acres in two master-planned industrial campuses. Centrally located between Seattle, Washington, and Portland, Oregon, the Port of Centralia has both easy highway and railroad access. The Port currently has 30 businesses in its parks providing over 800 jobs to the local economy.
Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce
The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce is the community cheerleader. The Chamber supports local business, economic development, and tourism in our area. The Chamber puts on popular local events, networking opportunities, and offers affordable marketing for members.
