Engineering Permits

All applications for civil plan review and construction shall be submitted on the Engineering Permit Application Form. This includes all civil work for the following:

  • Private development design and construction 
  • All work within the Right-of-Way, on City-owned property or easements
  • Utility Installation, modification or abandonment (both public and private utilities)
  • Obstruction of the Right-of-Way (Roadways, Alleys, Sidewalk, etc.)
  • Irrigation system installation, landscaping, tree removal and tree planting in the right of way
  • Right of Way Dedications, Utility Latecomer Agreements and other legal documents related to development.

The Engineering Permit Application shall be submitted via email to PublicWorksPermits@cityofcentralia.com

Permits that require additional approvals (City Light or Lewis County PUD Pole Attachment, Small Wireless Facilities Installation, Ecology Construction Stormwater Permits, etc.) will need to have those approvals prior to applying for a construction permit. If you are unsure if you need additional approvals, please contact the Engineering Department before submitting an application.

Engineering Permits are processed at the City Light/Public Works Administration Office located at 1100 N Tower Avenue. For questions regarding permits, please contact the Engineering Department at 360-330-7512.
