A Citizen's Academy is an interactive way for our citizens to learn more about Centralia Police Department. Through education and interaction, the goal is to create community partnership. Academy participants will gain an appreciation of the problems and challenges facing law enforcement today. Participants will also get to know officers and each other, helping us build community partnership. Many Citizen’s Academy graduates stay with the police department as volunteers or go back to their neighborhood to create block watch groups.
Our Citizen’s Academy is typically held 1 evening a week for 10-12 weeks.
Our 2024 Citizen’s Academy was cancelled due to lack of interest, and we do not currently have plans to host another one.
