Shoreline Master Plan Update

City of Centralia's Shoreline Master Plan (SMP)

The Washington State Shoreline Management Act requires counties and cities to update their Shoreline Master Programs (SMPs) on a regular basis. SMPs govern activities on and near lakes, streams, and rivers. Most local SMPs date from the 1970s, and must be modernized to reflect today's conditions and address new state requirements. Centralia conducted an extensive update and adopted a revised SMP in 2019. We are now in the process of updating our Plan again to meet the Department of Ecology shoreline requirements.
