Overview

This Board has no final authority or responsibility for policy and administration. They act only in an advisory capacity to a governing body (City Council) or jurisdiction and may be composed of members as determined by the appointing authority. While advisory boards have no direct power, they serve important functions in interpreting programs and facilities, making studies, and aiding in communication between the public and the administration. They act as a valuable sounding board by exerting influence throughout the community to improve park and recreation services.
